electronic and electrical faults and to prevent further damage.

transmission diagnostic information not available to general repair

Automatic

These
are just some of the warning signs that may mean your automatic requires
repairing or rebuilding. Depending on the fault and the vehicle,
it may be possible to repair it without removing the transmission.
We will let you know once we have diagnosed the problem.
It's important
for you as a consumer to understand what you are getting
and paying for. Proceed with caution; others may sell
you an overhaul or rebuild when in fact, it's a partial
repair. |

Rebuilds
 We guarantee all
our rebuilt transmissions and gearboxes have followed the same strict
processes. For each type of transmission we have developed a list
of "must replace" components
to ensure long-life and trouble-free motoring.
Only when a transmission has been through these processes, worn
parts replaced, and our quality checks done, are we happy to put
our name to it. Even then our job is not
complete. Once fitted back into your vehicle, we place the transmission
through a series of performance assessments and test-drives before
the vehicle is finally checked and signed off by your job coordinator.

Repairs
 Repairs
are generally limited to those failures that are isolated and easily
identified. The Gearbox Factory is happy to carry out repairs but
only where it will result in some degree of reliability; after all
it's our reputation at stake and your hard earned money.
We will discuss with you the requirements of your particular transmission or
gearbox and advise the best option based on the value of the vehicle, the current
miles, the type of failure and your budget.

Manual
Rebuilds & Repairs

 These
are just some of the warning signs that may mean your manual gearbox
requires repairing or rebuilding. There are many parts in a manual
transmission and it requires a skilled person to do the job properly.
We are happy to discuss what repairs are needed for your transmission
and may be able to offer a cheaper solution if you are on a tight

Used
Transmissions & Exchange Units
Staff at The Gearbox Factory personally
go to Japan and hand select quality used transmissions.
 As
an alternative to a rebuild, we may be able to offer you a used import
unit ex Japan. Japanese vehicles reach the wrecking yard with relatively
few miles on them and we fully inspect these units once they arrive
here and fit them with new axle seals, filter and a rebuilt torque
converter. These are a good alternative if your budget can't stretch
to a complete rebuild. The stock is constantly changing so ask for
details. In addition to importing quality transmissions from Japan
we carry a range of the most common units fully reconditioned. This
allows us to carry out a quick turn around if you are in a hurry.

Manual
Clutch Replacement
Slipping clutch? No clutch
clearance? More horsepower?
 Because
we are removing gearboxes all day everyday, we know the best way
to get yours in and out in minimal time without causing damage. We
can also supply all clutch parts be it standard or heavy duty. Let
us know what your intended purpose is and we can advise the best
option. There are many options for upgraded clutches. However a clutch
is often the "safety valve" which blows first so we recommend using
standard clutches for street use. It's much cheaper to replace a
clutch than a gearbox. Contact

Differential & Transfer
Units
Clonking diff? Rumbling
sound? Oil leaks?
 In
addition to rebuilding automatic and manual gearboxes, we also can
also recondition your differential and transfer unit. These units
are generally robust but do suffer when they are not correctly serviced.
We often see incorrect oils added to these units, which severely
shortens their useful life. Come to us and you can be assured of

can build and supply performance units for automatic and manual applications.
Modifications may include shift kits and performance parts for mild
to wild street engines, right through to custom made gears and shafts.
